Silicone pocket bib or full-coverage bib?

Our silicone bibs were handy at family meals. The Grabease covered more of the high chair, but drying it after a sink wash was a pain.

Quick answer

The silicone bibs came with us to relatives' houses because they were easy to put on and clean. Milk in the pocket made the trip to the sink a careful one. The Grabease worked okay at home on the Graco Slim Snacker, then spent the rest of the day drying on it.

Common questions

What happened to the Happy Healthy Parent bibs?

We used the turquoise/lime pair often. It went on easily and cleaned up well, and milk could collect at the bottom just as it did in our Mushie bib. I could not find that exact purchased pair available at the October 31 check.

Did the Grabease bib work with the IKEA high chair?

We had an IKEA high chair, but the Graco Slim Snacker is the one I remember using with this bib. I don't remember how the Grabease fit the IKEA chair.

Can you really use the Grabease bib only once a day?

Once a day was how it worked out for us after a sink wash. I left it on the high-chair seat to dry, and sometimes there was water on the floor. The current seller says it can go in the washing machine; I haven't compared that with our sink routine.

Before you buy

  • Packing for someone else's table: The small pocket bibs went with us to family meals; the Grabease spread across our high chair at home.
  • What happens after a spill: The silicone pocket caught liquid, which meant I had to carry that liquid somewhere before taking the bib off.
  • Drying before the next meal: Our Grabease stayed damp long enough that I could really use it once that day.
  • Any product: check current recall information before buying — the kids' product recall tracker lists recent CPSC recalls of children's products.

How I narrowed it down

I used all three bib families named here. The silicone bibs went to relatives' houses, and the Grabease was used with our Graco Slim Snacker. I checked current product and care details against the listings, but my cleanup notes come from what happened at our sink. The images are editorial scenes based on product photos, not pictures of our home.

  • Matched the two current recommended ASINs to selected listings and checked in-stock offers on October 31.
  • Checked Mushie's neck, pocket and printed-bib care directions; separated seller care claims from our sink-washing outcome.
  • Checked the historical Happy Healthy Parent exact variant's unavailable status and CPSC guidance to remove bibs before sleep.

I'm Matt, a dad of two boys. If we've used something at home, the card says personally tested. The rest I read up on. I keep a weekly list of kids' product recalls. How I pick.
