How I narrowed it down

• Confirmed the Strathmore 100 Series is 9 by 12 inches with 40 glue-bound sheets, and checked whether its paper weight suits pencil and crayon.
• Checked that the Pacon Art1st diary has 70 sheets and a hard back at 8.5 by 11 inches.
• Looked at the Canson XL’s paper weight, its top wire at 9 by 12 inches and its 30 sheets, to judge whether it’s ready for watercolor.
• Confirmed the large Moleskine Art Plus size, the hard cover and elastic closure, and the sketch-grade paper.
• For the Ohuhu pad, checked the 7-by-10 inch travel size and what the coated surface will and won’t take.
• Searched the CPSC recalls API for each exact model and found no active recalls at publication.
• Checked each product photo against its retailer source, so the image on the page matches the pad named under it.
